Ginger Simple Syrup

This syrup becomes more loved when you realize how many things you can do with it. Let's just start with biscuits and end with a gorgeous cocktail.

Prep Time: 15 minutes Yield: 7 ounces

1 cup light brown sugar

1 1/4 cup water

1/2 cup peeled, chopped ginger

In a saucepan over medium heat, add water, sugar, and ginger. Stir well to dissolve the sugar. Allow mixture to come up to a low simmer, adjust heat as necessary, then let syrup simmer for 5-6 minutes, stirring as it cooks. Remove from heat and let cool.

Once cool, strain ginger from the liquid. Store syrup in the refrigerator for one month.
