Spicy Mezcal Paloma

Here is a Paloma with heat, smoke, and sweet flavors. Ancho Reyes chili liqueur provides a warm, spicy kick to this cocktail, while a tad of mezcal adds smoke and depth. Pineapple juice brings sweetness to the other assertive flavors. For those who aren't mezcal fans, eliminate it and instead add additional tequila. Tajin seasoning, with chili pepper, dehydrated lime, and salt, rims the glasses with a hot, salty, sour bite. Enjoy...carefully! 😉

Prep Time: 5 minutes Yield: One cocktail

INGREDIENTS:

1 ounce tequila

0.5 ounce mezcal

0.5 ounce Ancho Reyes chili liqueur

2 ounces pink grapefruit juice

1 ounce pineapple or other sweet citrus fruit juice

0.5 ounce lime juice

0.5 ounce simple syrup or agave nectar

Unflavored soda

Tajin seasoning, for rim

citrus garnish

Place all ingredients, except the club soda, in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously, strain into ice-filled Tajin rimmed rocks or collins glass, top with soda. Garnish as desired.
