Banana Mudslide Recipe
This banana mudslide cocktail is everything a luxurious cocktail should be...perfectly balanced flavors with a velvety smooth finish. Brandy provides a subtle sweetness, vodka makes it stout, coffee liqueur for that aromatic coffee kick, and the salted espresso rim adds a nice sweet/salty punch.
Flavored simple syrups are a must when building great cocktails. Here, I use an easy to make banana simple syrup, recipe link below, to create a frothy, luscious cocktail.
Perfect for slow-sipping enjoyment any time of the years. Cheers!
Use whatever ice-filled glass you prefer. I love to serve this banana mudslide recipe in tall ice-filled rocks glasses or shake and pour it straight up into martini glasses for a martini version ❤️.
Banana Mudslide Recipe (with Salted Espresso Rim)
Prep Time: 5 minutes (excluding the banana simple syrup recipe prep)
Yield: 1 cocktail
INGREDIENTS:
1 ounce vodka
1 ounce coffee liqueur (such as Kahlua)
1 ounce brandy
Chef Paula's Tip: You can use dark rum, if you prefer.
1 ounce banana simple syrup
1 ounce cream
DIRECTIONS:
To make the salted espresso rim, pour just a touch of coffee liqueur onto one small, flat plate and pour some sea salt onto another small, flat plate. Dip the rim of your serving glass into the coffee liqueur so it just barely coats it, then lightly dip the liqueur-moistened rim into the sea salt.
Combine the remaining ingredients in an iced cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds to create a frothy banana mudslide cocktail.
Strain the banana mudslide recipe into an ice-filled, salt and espresso-rimmed rocks glass or chilled martini glass.
Happy celebrations!
